FA2020 Site Is Live - Use New Forums Instead
Community Friends, We are now live on the new FA2020 site located at https://www.forceacademy.us This means that we are transitioning over to the forums there. Eventually, once people are comfortable and any kinks have been worked out, we will be setting this forum to read-only, and then some time i...

Times of High Tension and Policy
We are all, more or less, under some strain right now. People may be under stress and tempers are short. Some may be on the verge or in the process of emotional panic. When dealing with others here at the FA and on Discord, please try to keep that in mind. If you find yourself conflicting with someo...

SSL Errors in March?
The FA uses Let's Encrypt certificate for the website SSL (https). That company found a bug and will be revoking certificates worldwide tomorrow. Some details here: https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2020/03/lets-encrypt-revoking-https-certs-due-to-certificate-authority-bug/ I will be mo...

FA in the Media
This week has been very interesting for this community! First, we found our members Setanaoko and Arisaig giving interviews, along with others in the greater Jedi Community, to the Guardian, a major news outlet in the UK. That article is here (and it made the front page of the print edition too!): h...

Academy User Migration and Password Resets
To Those In the Academy: I will be syncing up users in the Academy to the FA2020 site next weekend (Feb 15-16). This will result in your password at the Academy being reset and an email being sent to you to that effect. If you try to login and cannot and did not get an email with your new temporary ...

Re: Poll: Current Board Posts
That's the hard way. You won't lose anything, it's just a matter of how to move them. Right now, the best way is to spend an afternoon copy and pasting posts over, which would mean your posts are owned by you on the new site. These boards will remain up and available until everyone has what they nee...

Re: Poll: Current Board Posts
The options are indeed listed in order of most difficult/costly to least difficult/free. If you go to TotJO and look at their forums, it looks like that. That should give you long threads to see in the wild. The forum software company also uses their own forums, with a different theme, and that's vi...

Re: Poll: Current Board Posts
For me, I don't mind, say, topic threads being available to read through on the FA2020 site, and new threads created in the new forum there.
