Casting Stones - A Je'daii Meditation was created by Arden Wayfarer
I found this divination method in the book Divination With What You've Got by Cobalt Witch (very cheap for Kindle!) and thought it could easily be adapted as a Je'daii inspired meditation method. Even if you identify primarily as a Light or Dark Jedi, I think we could all benefit from a way to meditate on and check the balance of the Force in our lives.
To do the meditation, you will need three stones (or something similar like dice or draughts): one light colored, one dark colored, and one in a contrasting color to both. In the original divination, these are Yes, No, and the Self/Now respectively, but for our purposes, the light and dark stones will represent the Light (Ashla) and Dark (Bogan) sides of the Force. Pick up all three stones and rattle them in your hand, then cast them on a cloth, table, or the ground like you would rolling dice. Whichever stone falls closer to the "Self" represents close influences, and whichever stone is further away represents distant ones.
How to use this to meditate? Easy! When the Ashla stone is close to the Self/Now, meditate on how and where where the Light is strong in your life. When the Bogan stone is close to the Self/Now, meditate on how and where the Dark is strong in your life. If the stones are equidistant, meditate on the Balance of the Force in your life. Do you feel that the Force in your life is balanced the way you want it to be? If yes, meditate on welcoming those influences into your life. If no, meditate on how you can bring your relationship with the Force and how you live your life back into your preferred balance.
Depending on your Aspect, you may find different arrangements more comfortable to meditate on than others, but that's the point. No matter our Aspects, we can all get some use out of it. I want to emphasize that this version is a meditation tool and not divination - it does not mean the Force is actually prodding you one way or the other! Just a tool to focus on how those influences are present for you. If you meditate on it and conclude that the balance of the Force is different than what's in the stones, you've understood and accomplished the purpose of the exercise.
