Hello! Nice to meet you all. I'm Aether, 21! I'm half Scottish and half wherever else. I've a lot of hobbies which include reading non-fiction, chess, martial arts, acting and piano. I have a BSc Hons in Cyber Security from Oxford and I'm currently in my final year of my second degree - an LLB Hons Law. I graduate July '25! I've an advanced diploma in Neurolinguistic Programming too. My favourite movies are Shallow Grave and Velvet Goldmine. I study with the Shadows and the LA! I'm an INTP and a very curious person. My goal after I graduate is to be a journalist or an academic researcher in Philosophy. The modules I love the most at University right now are Civil Litigation and Negotiation. Following the college playoffs Your quarterback will throw the Madden 25 coins combine along with the other draft hopefuls. EA does an excellent job of making this enjoyable and thrilling. Once you've completed making a range of throws during the combination, there's nothing to do except wait in anticipation of your name being called in the start of the draft.

To admit it I was surprised by the stories that were a part of Face of the Franchise. At some point you're fighting with the best quarterback across the country to get the first starting position. Motivation for the quarterback is determined in part by the loss of a close associate. The overall tone of the story is somewhat detached and not appropriate for the situation this time, particularly due to the various ages that will be participating in this mode. It's still the classic story of two quarterbacks who have to prove they've got the skills to become the starter quarterback.

Graphically, the game mode is a step beyond the limits of the games we've played from EA. In addition, some of the scenes and stadium shots are stunning. It's not enough of it in the game, which would help in making Madden seem as authentic as Sundays. Another nice feature is the obvious partnership with EA as well as NFL Network.

One of the most exciting features that this mode offers is its inclusion of NFL Network's cult television program Good Morning Football. The experience of hearing Peter Schrager and Kay Adams discuss your character's chances to become an NFL QB is a great experience. If they could simply add more of this in franchise mode, along with some other visual tweaks the replay's value will rise significantly. It's also one of the coolest features they've done to QB1 and I hope we will see more from this kind of partnership in the near future.

Unfortunately, as well executed as the first portion of Face of the Franchise is however, the remainder of the buy Madden 25 coins  game is just Connected Franchise.

The removal of the chemistry line now allows players can form partnerships with any other player, such as a right back/left back partnership. Since players no longer need to be connected through the lines to provide a boost to chemistry, it will make FC 24 Coins team building much more approachable for newcomers. Further, a new menu to the right of the squad selection list provides details on what clubs, leagues, and nationalities will boost team chemistry, making it more intuitive and giving fans all the information, they need to gain maximum chemistry.

One feature that has been missing from FC 24 Ultimate Team in the past was multiple positions for each player card, which especially emattered since players in offline modes have multiple positions they can play in, such as Mbappe being able to play both as a central striker and on the wing. This will give fans an easier time when it comes to team selection and will implore them to try new formations and positioning FIFA players in different areas. With the new positions added in, players can be placed in their alternative positions without bringing down the team chemistry.

This feature is especially useful when starting out in FC 24 Ultimate Team as it means that fans with fewer cards will still be able to experiment with their cards. While regular cards will be given this option of alternative players, it seems that icons will be locked to a single position, however, they will always provide three chemistry points if they play in their preferred position, regardless of their nationality, league, or club. So, the flexible position system can make organizing strong FIFA teams much easier, while also allowing fans to experiment with their players and fill areas of the pitch that need some attention without worrying about a drop in team chemistry.

With all the changes coming to FC 24 Ultimate Team, FC 24 is setting itself up to be one of the best FIFA games ever released, and with EA Sports and FIFA parting ways following its release, it will likely serve as a template for FC 24 Ultimate Teamure EA Sports FC titles. The changes to the positions, chemistry, and modes available in FC 24 Ultimate Team will make the game mode a lot easier for newcomers and will give them a chance to quickly build up their team before diving into competitive play. FC 24 Ultimate Team was in serious need of some changes, and with cross-play finally coming to buy EA FC 24 Coins . fans are as excited as ever for the latest edition of FIFA Ultimate Team.

The Road to Hell...

The Ineffable
The Force- “The Force” is a loosely adapted term to explain a something which all cultures agree exist, but disagree on exactly what it is. As such, a Jedi dedicates themselves to understanding of all things within and through “the Force”. As a rule, no Jedi can set down in law a concrete definition of “the Force” for all to follow, only for themselves.

Core Ethics
Loyalty to the Jedi Code- This has a few different variants depending on what order a Jedi attends. A Jedi is bound by the code. By maintaining your loyalty to the code, you are able to keep your actions in check through the moral integrity of the Jedi Path outlined in the Jedi Code. It is important that a Jedi checks their own version of the code against the original codes (Jedi Code and Skywalker Code) before they adopt it.
Duty to the All- A Jedi's mission is to support their community through service. A Jedi is charged with acting, objectively, when they recognise a situation where someone needs help. Jedi put their lives above the lives of others, even when facing danger, but know that they can help through direct action or indirect action as per the situation.
Respect the Law- A Jedi knows enough of the law to operate within it. Jedi should respect, and do their best to live by, the laws of the land they are living in. However, these are man's law, and like man, subject to flaws. A Jedi must act for the best interest of mankind as he/she sees the situation.
Defense- A Jedi understands that defense is not purely physical, but that there are many ways to defend a person or property. As such, it is important to understand that Jedi are not vigilantes. If, however, they are in a position where they are called to defend themselves or someone else against loss of life, limb or eyesight, they are allowed to apply the appropriate amount of force necessary for defense.
Action- A Jedi recognizes that there are times when getting involved with a situation is against the will of the person they are seeking to assist, or that helping them may be more detrimental in the long run. As such, a Jedi seeks inner wisdom to determine when to act and when not to act.

Self Awareness
Interior- A Jedi works to become aware of their emotions and things which make them “tick”. They learn of their flaws and strengths, seeking to reconcile a life with those flaws which they cannot change and the strengths they have been blessed with. In this a Jedi must be constantly looking inward for their motivations, their directions, what moves them, and why they allow it to do so.
Exterior- It is important that a Jedi be aware of the person they present to those around them, and how that will affect the dynamic of the groups they find themselves in. How one's presence is received will determine whether or not the next steps will be met with hostility or acceptance.

Virtues
Tolerance- You do not need to agree with someone's religion, their nationality, their career choice, their dress or anything else for that matter. Tolerance is not about agreement, it is about showing respect for the freedom of a persons choices and to respect their choices, until it reaches a point in which a reasonable person would consider the individual's actions as a/an (emotionally, spiritually, financially, and/or physically) abusive threat to you or another person.
Responsibility- Responsibility is at the heart of learning to overcome our problems. A Jedi should be held responsible for all of their actions. Without it, we cannot grow, we cannot help others and we cannot justify why we are to be taken seriously.
Discipline- In order to walk the Jedi Path, you need to live by your training and by the philosophy. It is your responsibility to continue your growth throughout the rest of your life. Even while you are training with a mentor or taking a course at an order, it is discipline that will get you through to your knighthood and beyond.
Fortitude- Fortitude is the emotional strength and conviction to press forward in any given situation which poses an internal or external adversity. Developing fortitude allows a Jedi to show that they are not willing to give up until they have drawn their last breath.
Integrity- A Jedi seeks to maintain their integrity to the Jedi Code at all times. A Jedi should hold themselves to a high standard knowing that what they do when no one is looking is just as important as what they do when people are looking.
Objectivity- A Jedi trains themselves to gain as much relevant information as possible before drawing their conclusions. Once intelligence has been collected, they approach the problem with as little cultural and emotional bias as possible so that they are able to develop a decision on their next action.

Overcome
Aggression- To build on the Jedi Virtues, a Jedi must keep themselves open to the world. Through the misuse of aggression, they miss out on opportunities to further their cause. This does not preclude being assertive. A Jedi needs to learn to find the most effective means of resolving a conflict through the least bit of hostility possible.
Recklessness- A Jedi does not take unnecessary risks, knowing that their life is important to the Jedi Mission of bettering the world around them. In overcoming recklessness, a Jedi acknowledges and is mindful of how small the impact is perceived to have on themselves or others.
Attachments- Overcoming your attachments is not about getting rid of all your possessions or even denouncing your family, instead this is about forward movement. In overcoming/subjagating your attachments, you are acknowledging what value these things have to you, and you recognize that there comes a time when you should no longer fight for your attachments, and you must let go. For a Jedi overcoming attachments can extend to bad habits, unhealthy obsessions, and connections to people that make us less who we have chosen to be.

Prowess
Defense Art- A “Defense Art” is not necessarily physical in nature, it can be through speech, writing, diplomacy, art or a number of other options which lead to an active method of curing the world of oppression. Like many of the other disciplines, you may find that your Defense Art is the same as another art (Physical, Scholarly, or Spiritual).
Physical Art- A Jedi should seek a physical art within their capabilities which keeps them them in shape and focuses on maintaining discipline of their body. . Part of the physical art, which can be observed by all Jedi regardless of their mobility, is health. A Jedi should eat right, and maintain their health to the best of their ability.
Scholarly Art- A Jedi should seek out skills that provide benefit to them and the people around them. The search for knowledge is fundamental to Jedi as one never stops learning, seeking knowledge or bettering their skills.
Spiritual Art- A spiritual art may be as simple as developing meditation, but can go far beyond this. A Jedi may choose to develop a spiritual art aimed at connecting them with “the Force” through healing, seeking guidance, or simply developing their own self awareness.

Your Social Concerns
In your residential community, what are some things that you believe should be changed (it could be crime, laws, social injustices, etc)? What do you believe is the best way to resolve these issues? Do you think it requires social change? That legislation might be the answer? Or is there another way that the community or people outside of the community could help resolve the issue? Your answer must be a minimum of 250 words (not including citations, if you provide any).

The Gunshot
After hearing what sounds like a gun shot, you see someone run out of the house.  Do you go in to make sure everything is okay? You know the individual is completely gone, you most likely will not see them come back. Do you dare walk into the home to ensure the safety of the others in there?  Why or why not? What considerations from the Jedi Compass come to mind?  Your answer must be a minimum of 250 words (not including citations), with at least 1 source (must be The Jedi Compass) in APA format.



Knowing the Laws
Research your local Good Samaritan Law and Citizen's Arrest. Provide links to each and give a brief summary of each law.  Your answer must be a minimum of 250 words (not including citations), with minimum of 3 sources (at least 1 source per law) in APA format.
If one (or both) of these laws are not present, give your opinion on why it may not exist.  If you are having difficulty locating the law, do not hesitate to come to me directly and ask for help. 


Research a Political Movement
Research a recent political movement that either succeeded or failed. Take notes on where they failed or succeeded in areas of organization, building awareness & support, finding allies for their cause, and funding their efforts. Your answer must be a minimum of 250 words (not including citations), with minimum of 2 sources in APA format.



Oppressed
How you would react to this situation: You are a member of an indigeonous people who managed to get together and purchase a large area of land for development.  The goals of your collective community was to build a place so that you could live in, in accordance with the lifestyle of your ancestors.  In time, you hoped to seek out government protections for the property so that you could eventually hold autonomy as an indigenous group separate from oversight (law enforcement) of the reigning government.  However, while you and this community continued to build the project, the property tax holders for the land you are on made it too cumbersome for your community to continue paying the mortgage and taxes for the land, and it was eventually reclaimed by the bank.  This has left you and your community homeless.  After petitioning the courts, you find that the courts refuse your side, and take the side of your debtors.

Your answer should address the following questions-

1) How do you feel you would react to this situation today?
2) How would your wanted reaction affect your life?
3) What other solutions might be available to you?

Case Study:
The renowned, or infamous, Richard Dawkins had his appearance at an event hosted by Berkeley’s KPFA Radio, to discuss his memoir, cancelled based on posts (tweets on twitter) he had made regarding Islam. KPFA explained their reasoning for the cancellation as their being ignorant of the offense, and harm, Dawkins has caused through his comments, when they initially booked the event. Adding, that as an entity the Radio Station does not endorse hateful speech. A particular “tweet” of Dawkins which has been under scrutiny was as follows:
“I think Islam is the greatest force for evil in the world today”
The argument can be made that said tweet is discriminatory; because it is not an exact criticism of an element of Islam, or a belief within islam. Rather, it is a blanket statement about the faith, which can be taken to imply that practitioners of Islam, Muslims, are inherently evil due to their religious affiliation. Similarly; in a recent interview for the United Kingdom News Paper the telegraph was quoted as saying the following:
“If you look at the actual impact that different religions have on the world it’s quite apparent that at present the most evil religion in the world has to be Islam. It’s terribly important to modify that because of course that doesn’t mean all Muslims are evil, very far from it. Individual Muslims suffer more from Islam than anyone else. They suffer from the homophobia, the misogyny, the joylessness which is preached by extreme Islam, Isis and the Iranian regime.”
Issue was primarily taken with his statement that the most evil religion in the world is Islam. Although, he does go onto balance the argument, by first making a direct statement about Muslims in relation to the religion, and then secondly by stating specific issues, i.e. misogyny. However, it is still not a balanced argument, and again much inference can be made about the statement of Islam being evil. Whatever he then states about Muslims does not detract from the fact he has stated their religion is evil.
In response; Dawkins, and supporters have argued that the cancellation of the event, and KPFA’s argument that Dawkin’s statements against Islam constitutes hate speech, are an impediment of free speech. They have also argued that it is a double standard, when one considers the criticism of other religions by several form KPFA guests has not been subject to the same verdict.

"It is impossible to live in the world without attachments, or indeed to eradicate them. Our affections for others, the desire to succeed in our endeavors, our interests and passions, our love of life itself--all of these are attachments and potential sources of disappointment or suffering, but they are the substance of our humanity and the elements of engaged and fulfilled lives."

Buddhism is a teaching of liberation, aimed at freeing people from the inevitable sufferings of life. To this end, early Buddhist teachings focused on the impermanence of all things. The Buddha realized that nothing in this world stays the same; everything is in a constant state of change. Pleasurable conditions, favorable circumstances, our relationships with those we hold dear, our health and well-being--any sense of comfort and security we derive from these things is continually threatened by life's flux and uncertainty, and ultimately by death, the most profound change of all.

The Buddha saw that people's ignorance of the nature of change was the cause of suffering. We desire to hold on to what we value, and we suffer when life's inevitable process of change separates us from those things. Liberation from suffering comes, he taught, when we are able to sever our attachments to the transient things of this world.

Buddhist practice, in this perspective, is oriented away from the world: life is suffering, the world is a place of uncertainty; liberation lies in freeing oneself from attachment to worldly things and concerns, attaining a transcendent enlightenment.

The Lotus Sutra, upon which Nichiren Buddhism is based, is revolutionary in that it reverses this orientation, overturning the basic premises of the Buddha's earlier teachings and focusing people's attention instead on the infinite possibilities of life and the joy of living in the world.
Where other teachings had regarded enlightenment, or the final liberation of Buddhahood, as a goal to be attained at some future point in time, in the teachings of the Lotus Sutra each person is inherently and originally a Buddha. Through Buddhist practice we develop our enlightened qualities and exercise them in the world here and now for the sake of others and for the purpose of positively transforming society. The true nature of our lives at this moment is one of expansive freedom and possibility.

This dramatic reorientation effected by the Lotus Sutra is distilled in the key and seemingly paradoxical concepts of Nichiren Buddhism that "earthly desires are enlightenment" and "the sufferings of birth and death are nirvana." The image of the pure lotus flower blossoming in the muddy swamp is a metaphor that encapsulates this perspective--freedom, liberation, enlightenment are forged and expressed in the very midst of the murky swamp of life with its problems, pains and contradictions.

It is impossible to live in the world without attachments, or indeed to eradicate them. Our affections for others, the desire to succeed in our endeavors, our interests and passions, our love of life itself--all of these are attachments and potential sources of disappointment or suffering, but they are the substance of our humanity and the elements of engaged and fulfilled lives.

The challenge is not to rid oneself of attachments but, in the words of Nichiren, to become enlightened concerning them. The teachings of Nichiren thus stress the transformation, rather than the elimination, of desire. Desires and attachments fuel the quest for enlightenment. As he wrote: "Now Nichiren and others who chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo . . . burn the firewood of earthly desires and behold the fire of enlightened wisdom..."
In their proper perspective--when we can see them clearly and master them rather than being mastered by them--desires and attachments enable us to lead interesting and significant lives. As SGI President Daisaku Ikeda says, "Our Buddhist practice enables us to discern their true nature and utilize them as the driving force to become happy."

It is our small ego, our "lesser self," that makes us slaves to our desires and causes us to suffer. Buddhist practice enables us to break out of the shell of our lesser self and awaken to the "greater self" of our inherent Buddha nature.

This expanded sense of self is based on a clear awareness of the interconnected fabric of life which we are part of and which sustains us. When awakened to the reality of our relatedness to all life, we can overcome the fear of change and experience the deeper continuities beyond and beneath the ceaseless flow of change.

The basic character of our greater self is compassion. Ultimate freedom is experienced when we develop the ability to channel the full energy of our attachments into compassionate concern and action on behalf of others.

Assignment 1
This assignment is going to be different from assignments I've given in this class or previous classes.  I'm giving you two different options, mostly because I know that not everyone is good with creative writing but flourish more in analysis.  Because of the time it will take for you to create this, this will be the only assignment inside of this module.  If you're looking for extra credit, you may do both of the options provided.

The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate the relation between Responsibility, Integrity and Discipline.

Option A: Creative Writing
Write a short story in a minimum of 2000 words that demonstrates an understanding of the value of these three themes.  The main character can be the embodiment of these values or they can they be completely devoid of them, it's up to you.  The genre (Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Romance, Contemporary, Horror, etc) is also your choice.

The Journey to Knowing Thyself
Knowing yourself is the first key to living the life of a Jedi. Meditate on these topics and others that you think of that are relevant to understanding you.
1.) Who are you? Look at your life up until the point where you decided that the Jedi path was the right avenue for you to take. Study who you have been and who you are.
2.) What do you believe in? What are your core truths? What are negotiable beliefs? Study what your values are and why you hold them.
3.) Who have been your guides? As you have journeyed through life, look back at the people who have influenced you most and think about why they have.
4.) How does who you are affect those around you? This is also a part of being empathic and mindful, but it is important to consider how you fit into the big picture. We are not islands after all.
Just some things to think about as your start out on the Jedi path or remind yourself who you are.

Come up with two lists, one is everything that you like about yourself, and the other will be things you dislike about yourself. Like: In your journal, keep a log of activities you are doing to give attention to this like and how the activities make you feel about yourself.
Dislike: Research what others have done to overcome this dislike they have of themselves and try out some of the techniques they have used.  In your journal/blog, write down the effectiveness of the activity, and explain why you believe it may or may not be an avenue for you to use in the future.

How Do I use the Sextant and Jedi Compass Together?

This is a fun question. It’s also where you step out from simple meditation and can begin to exercise some real critical thinking. After drawing your cards and relating it to a story either in myth, real-life, or an imagined scenario- you start to look for how a Jedi would use the Jedi Compass (which includes the Jedi Code). But don’t stop there- find out if it works.

What do I mean by that? Allow me an opportunity to illustrate this with one of the meditations I have drawn in the past. My cards were Reject Information and Render Aid. This led me to consider the difficulty of being a doctor in a war zone. I had often heard that a doctor or medic may regret the decision of saving an enemy combatant, but in reality I had never had first-hand encountered an incident where the doctor cared or didn’t care who they were saving. So I wanted to challenge the notion- in my view, the Jedi response to an enemy combatant would absolutely be to save their life, but was there precedence for a positive outcome of a doctor saving an enemy? And I didn’t want to just find out, I wanted to challenge it to the extremes.

I went to World War II, and looked hard for an example of a German, Military-affiliated, Doctor saving the life of anyone on the Allies’ side. What I found was the story of how a German doctor named Ludwig Gruber completely disregarded authority, and even defied the medical odds of his time, to save the life of an American Soldier named Elmer Richardson. This decision led to the salvation of the entire military hospital. This was accomplished by Elmer standing before a US military official and convincing him to spare the hospital from an attack. In turn, this single action by Gruber, managed to save even more lives throughout the war.

So there you have it- From thought-experiment/myth to practical application, the Jedi Sextant and Jedi Compass is a fantastic way of addressing the world around us and finding out “What would Jedi Do?”. Now it’s your turn, pick up a journal and start your own practice using the tools we’ve given you in this curriculum, and in turn, watch your Jedi Path evolve.

How does this culture believe fasting assists in their meditations?  Your answer must be 250 words minimum (without citations), and a minimum of 2 sources in APA format.Jedi Sextant & The Jedi CompassBefore reading the rest of this post, please read the following to familiarize yourself with the Jedi Sextant.forceacademy.us/index.php/10-light-content/326-the-jedi-sextant-a-jedi-meditation-deckHow Do I use the Sextant and Jedi Compass Together?This is a fun question.  It’s also where you step out from simple meditation and can begin to exercise some real critical thinking.  After drawing your cards and relating it to a story either in myth, real-life, or an imagined scenario- you start to look for how a Jedi would use  the Jedi Compass  (which includes the Jedi Code).  But don’t stop there- find out if it works.What do I mean by that?  Allow me an opportunity to illustrate this with one of the meditations I have drawn in the past.  My cards were Reject Information and Render Aid.  This led me to consider the difficulty of being a doctor in a war zone.  I had often heard that a doctor or medic may regret the decision of saving an enemy combatant, but in reality I had never had first-hand encountered an incident where the doctor cared or didn’t care who they were saving.  So I wanted to challenge the notion- in my view, the Jedi response to an enemy combatant would absolutely be to save their life, but was there precedence for a positive outcome of a doctor saving an enemy?  And I didn’t want to just find out, I wanted to challenge it to the extremes.I went to World War II, and looked hard for an example of a German, Military-affiliated, Doctor saving the life of anyone on the Allies’ side.  What I found was the story of how a German doctor named Ludwig Gruber completely disregarded authority, and even defied the medical odds of his time, to save the life of an American Soldier named Elmer Richardson.  This decision led to the salvation of the entire military hospital.  This was accomplished by Elmer standing before a US military official and convincing him to spare the hospital from an attack.  In turn, this single action by Gruber, managed to save even more lives throughout the war.So there you have it- From thought-experiment/myth to practical application, the Jedi Sextant and Jedi Compass is a fantastic way of addressing the world around us and finding out “What would Jedi Do?”.  Now it’s your turn, pick up a journal and start your own practice using the tools we’ve given you in this curriculum, and in turn, watch your Jedi Path evolve.
