I use my training to defend and protect, never to assault.

The original line read "attack". However, in order to defend and protect, you may find it necessary to attack. This is why the Heartland Jedi Creed changes the word to “assault”, because assault is about attacking before you need to, and attacking beyond what is needed to bring the fight to best possible solution (hopefully with both parties walking away). A Jedi never throws the first "punch" (proverbial or literal). Instead, they stand ready to engage and subdue an opponent with the lowest amount of force necessary.

Assaulting others comes from a lack of personal discipline, and discipline is not something that is simply instilled within us. Like any other worthwhile endeavor, it is something we have to practice at. So for today’s discussion: What practices are you using to fortify your discipline?
