I will approach all situations holistically.
Nearly everyone (including me!) seems to get held up at “holistically" initially. When Mary Coleman introduced the idea, I had to fight with terrible cellular signal to look up the definition. It turns out that the word has two definitions, and when speaking from the philosophical definition it fits in with the rest of the creed more eloquently than any other term available in the English language.
The word itself means to recognize the whole rather than independent parts of the whole. It’s not just about objectivity either, it’s also about how our actions can lead to compassionate results. When making a decision based on what is in front of you, you look to see how it effects everything/one in both the here and now, and the future.
For today’s discussion- How can our vision of others be improved if we approach them more holistically?
