You all know of the body's senses right?

smell sight hearing feeling taste

By use of the elements it is possible to be able to strengthen these senses just from an elemental point of view.

exercise one-earth(chi)

As you awaken during the begining of your day lay there and keep your eyes closed. While you are doing this notice the smell of your surroundings and objects close to you.

sniff your blanket what smells do you pick up?

smell your kunkels and the air around you what certain scents do you pick up during this period of "observation"

do this for about two minutes(smelling your surroundings)with your eyes closed.

when your arise tell yourself that you will be especially aware of your sense of smell today for the entire day. It is recommend that you pick a day to do this when you know you will be exploring different environments so you can give yourself a wide range of stimuli. allow yourself to notice all smells even if they are pleasant or not but do not make judgments on these smells just tell yourself that everything that you smell will have a pleasant fragrance. You will be surprised at how you will find smells labeled as "bad" will smell very pleasant to you. Close your eyes to experience certain odors with full concentration do not limit yourself to flowers or car exhaust fumes. Get a wide range of everything while siting in a classroom when the teacher gives you a graded paper pick up the sense of smell of the paper you will be very surprised as to what you will pick up!.and notice the effects the smells have on you. During a period in the day sit and concentrate and review some of what you picked up today this will be a great new learning experience for you.

exercise two-water element (sui)

as you awaken the next mourning keep your eyes close and pick up any kind of tastes. Like run your tongue around your teeth and gums or run your tongue also. Keep your eyes closed for about two minutes and experiences different tastes around you. Arise and tell yourself that you will be aware of your sense of taste today. It is not necessary to change your diet today just take longer periods of tasting your foods and eating. Direct yourself to your sense of taste. Take twice the normal time to chew and eat your foods. Notice how the different tastes have an effect on you if you pick up tastes such as bad tastes just apply that everything today will taste good. Before you put food in your mouth take time to create an image of what it will taste like. By the end of the day you will be surprised as what different tastes you will pick up. By the end of the day close your eyes and review what you have tasted.

exercise three-fire(ka)

As you awaken the next day take time to allow your sight to take in whatever is around you. Without moving move your eyes around the room and take in anything you see. Lay there for about two minutes and arise. Tell yourself that you will be aware of your sight today. During the day take in whatever your sight brings in and be aware of what you see. Like leaves blowing in the trees and people walking by you. Close your eyes and gently press your fingertips to your eyelids notice the different colors that form by this technique. And when walking around notice the different colors let off by different things you will be surprised as how everything seems beautiful to you. At the end of the day close your eyes and review some of what you saw today.

Exercise four-wind (fu)

As you awaken the next mourning keep your eyes closed and notice the different physical feelings that you bring in. Like the soft comfort of your blankets and everything that makes physical contact with you. Do this for about two minutes and arise. Tell yourself that you will be aware of your sense of touch today. Take in EVERYTHING! that touches you and tell yourself that it is a pleasant feeling. While you walk and make occasional contact with another person take time to review what that felt like. When walk take time to feel the plants touch on your skin. You will be very surprised as to different feelings will seem even greater to you. Take time at a period in the day to close your eyes and review what you felt today such as:pleasure pain etc.

Exercise five-void element(ku)

As you awaken the next day keep your eyes closed and take in whatever your sense of sound brings in. Notice the ringing of your alarm clock or your siblings or children screaming at the top of there lungs......lol. Take in everything your ears pick up for about two minutes and then arise. Tell yourself that you will be paying attention to everything you hear today. Take time throughout the whole day to pick up EVERY! kind of sound that you hear. People talking, your shoes scraping the ground as you walk etc. And notice every sound you will be surprised as to the different pleasant sounds you pick up even if the sound bad normally. When you get home find a quiet place to sit(try to find a place with total silence)as you sit become aware of the steady sound behind the silence. At the end of the day close your eyes and review what you heard today.

The purpose of these five exercises is the strengthen or give you a better understanding and fulfillment of your sense. After completion of all these exercises you will feel more better about what you feel, hear, taste, see, smell. And you will get better results of your senses and remember to always pay attention to them.

Can any person perceive anything beyond personal perspective? I think not. We touch upon the absolute with our subjectively-gloved palms, processing it into our own reality through nerve-channels and neuron arrays. This is the paradox of subjective co-existence. On the one hand, we and all things are interconnected... tied to
