Leadership

Everything has to have some sort of leadership, whether it is a compiling of the thoughts of the entire group, or one or two people in charge to get things to happen. I have seen, and participated in, many different situations which involved a group and leading it, and I have found that the only way a group can truly be led well is if the leadership is by the opinion of the group and, when a single leader is needed, the person who is most qualified to do the set task is in charge. You can have a very versatile group yet be stuck on few paths if you keep one type of leadership and it isn't able to think in ways the others could. The group has to be able to adapt. For the group to adapt the leadership has to adapt and become the best leadership for the given situation. I have been in leadership positions, and I've made errors which go against what I'm saying now, that is how I claim this. I know how extremely hard it is to make things work well, but if you want it to happen and you're willing to sacrifice to get it, it is possible.

The leadership to adapt eh. One method doesn't necessarily rely on the leader themself but alternating who has the leadership "power" or "say" in things.

That's basically what I was saying, in part. If you're going to have one leader, switch off so you have the person who knows best what to do in that situation in charge.

Rogue Ace

Aye, good point. :) Actually that's similar to the way it used to be run...or at least at the time the Corpus Canon was written (documented in there). Times have changed eh? hehe

Saidi Akili Maleah

Just because times change doesn't mean that the best methods change. Heck, I tried to take charge a few times when things seemed down, unfortunately nobody let me, ah well. Anyway, we need to get things going with multiple people working.

Rogue Ace

Leadership is something to be addressed.

It is my opinion that if you have an overall leader guiding the council then that person should not be subject to any of the council's affairs other then guidance.

If they are to have a clear view then they must be well versed in all of the activities. The only way to have this is to have an expert on each activity report directly to him/her.

This gives them the vision to see where it is possible to go without getting caught up in the actual process of going.

The roles should be rotated often. However this assumes that the council member's qualities are all of the same stature.

In the end the primary quality of a leader is dedication. The best leader's are dedicated Solely to that which they lead.

Just some thoughts.

Shinobi

True, but how often do you find a true leader who can keep his eyes on the goal without turning his back on that which he leads? It's hard for a leader to keep from turning his back and losing respect, you have to know how and when to handle things, and when to let someone else handle it. Too often, leaders try to do too much work and they lose respect because they don't give the group they lead enough respect.

Man, I have a perfect quote from Julius Caesar...if only I could remember it. Anyone know the one about "once he reaches the top he then turns his back on the ladder"?

Rogue Ace

Thats a fool...

If he does that the Ladder may not be there for him when he needs to go back down...instead pull it up...

Can any person perceive anything beyond personal perspective? I think not. We touch upon the absolute with our subjectively-gloved palms, processing it into our own reality through nerve-channels and neuron arrays. This is the paradox of subjective co-existence. On the one hand, we and all things are interconnected... tied to
