The Imminence of Destiny

. .

Often times in life we find ourselves looking for the next step.

Where do we go next? How do we get there?

We find ourselves tangled in a morass of indecision because the simple fact is: We don't know where we are going.

Some of us need to go, it is the only thing in life that we find reaffirming. It keeps us breathing and promises us the bounty that life holds as long as we can keep rolling with the punches.

At one time or another, we are all like that. Rolling with the punches and finding the rewards of life are more often then not the same things throwing the punches.

When we finally find the insight we are searching for, it is most often a simple reflection of where we have been standing all along.

It is true that it is necessary to grow in this life, however growth does not always necessarily mean going forward and rarely if ever does it mean going back.

I have discovered, for myself, that insight and growth are found in going up rather then forward or back.

Only when we view the present, the past, and the future all from the same prespective will we see how one thing relates to another.

If we look at each with a different set of eyes then most likely each thing will have no connection to the other.

A wise man said that it is the Journey which is the Destination. As a Shadow I find the truth in this as well as in my path in that the mistake is often looking for the things which are absolute and universal.

Universal by nature means that we cannot define it, because we are transitory. The realm of universal is, I believe, not for us to interpret. We can however find its secrets and employ them, but only the foolish attempts to understand their purpose for existing.

The temporary in itself can hold wheel within wheel of truth, and while you are hurting now, you could be held in the arms of joy and ecstacy at the same time the dagger pierces your heart.

The greatest mistake I have ever made is consciously choosing to ignore options that I very well knew were there, but had the arrogance to assume that I knew what they meant and as such ignored them as inconsequential, in doing so I have sealed my fate many times in this life.

Reality in itself is but an eclectic collection of fragments, all absolutely true and unassailable. However when we look at all of them as just fragments we find what true desolation means, to believe that one truth alone is sacred and another is simple ballyhoo.

When we are alone, we find no friends, even as they knock down our door in desperation to help us.

When we are the most powerful, we find no enemies, even when we feel the cold bite of steel pierce our tender flesh.

When we are fearful, we find no chance for success, even as we sign the check and deposit a fund that we will live off for the rest of our lives.

Know no absolutes and you will find Adaptability, and that is the greatest gift that you can offer yourself in this life.
