This is a Technique that is designed to heighten the awareness of the Shadow Student so they may operate with more efficiency in their lives. This technique will work for you if you can trully allow your mind to work at its natural speed. However do not become frustrated if at first you cannot allow your mind to slip into this state.
Note: This is NOT mediation, do not confuse it as such.
During the Development of Man throughout the ages, it is believed by some cultures, that there has been a middle layer of consciousness between the sub and normal levels.
This thin Membrane is believed to be what has allowed man to grow so much in a relatively short evolutionary time period. It acts on combinations of logic, intuition, and outside forces that I myself am not willing to try to explain, some things are simply beyond my ken.
As man developed and efficiency began to rest more on logic and less on intuition (What some people call the taming of the world) this layer became less and less important and thus employed less and less.
Getsumei No Michi is a technique for entering this state of consciousness.
The trick to entering Getsumei No Michi is to cede control of your mind to your imagination.
DO NOT attempt to focus your mind on any one thing. Let it go.
The Ninja used to instruct their students to daydream in order to enter the moonlit path. Allow your mind to wander and pay attention to what it wanderer's to. Do not control its direction but DO pay attention.
When you have accustomed yourself to this kind of observation you will notice things that previously you had no chance of noticing. Rather then controling the direction of your mind it jumps to every sound, every sight, every smell...Even your actions become more instinct then descion, as your mind unconsciously sorts out the best and safest path's. Consider Getsumei No Michi your only true refuge...no matter where you are, this type of mindset can save your life in situations where it may seem impossible to get help or to save an endeavor.
Getsumei No Michi relies on the mind's ability to adapt, very fast. This is the equivalent of observation of what speed reading is to regular reading.
The human mind is capable of translating around 1,000 words a minute, it can be trained to do more, but the average person only reads 255 words a minute.
The concept for learning to read faster and entering the moonlit path is the same.
The difference is that you only enter the path while you are reading and never in real life after you pull out of the book.
In time once your mind is capable of processing all that is around you and you being aware of it, you will notice even more subtle things that previously you did not know you were capable of observing. Also in this state the sense of hesitation is GREATLY reduced. Memory in this state is heightened, you tend to remember everything you observe on the moonlit path.
Once again, do not attempt to control the direction your mind goes in, just let it go and pay attention to where it goes. Ride the Day Dream home.
I hope all of you can adapt this technique to every aspect of your life, it is a great tool.

Very nice, reminds me of something within my training as a mage that I have long since forgotten yet never really stoped practicing. At least unconsciously that is. My conscious mind might have been having other ideas and constructs floating through its cranium, however that is another matter altogether.
This technique, or rather state of mind, works on the basic principal that the brain can process massive amounts of information within a relativly limited period of time. The only thing that is limiting us is our own singular mental constructs which limit ourselves into these tiny little boxes which we are content and happy in as well the amount of oxygen that is being supplied to our brain.
It also seems to work on the principal that one will gain control only once you have lost it. I, unfortunately, have experience in that area and have found that philosophy to be rather relivant to the path that we all walk down.
Also, when you referred to the fact that this is something that is between the right and left brained thinking got me to thinking about the Toltec way of knowledge. In which ones training is generally seperated into the development of the left and the right way of thinking. Note, this isn't the right and left brain, in which it is the other way around. Don't worry, its naturally confusing.
Essentially one starts within the 'ormal' right side of the teachings whihc involves learning how to manipulate the energies that surround us. Along with some rather interesting uses of medicinal herbs which stimulate spiritual growth. In addition to what probably would be consider the basic groundwork for this esoteric mode of teaching.
Then, after a period of time one would eventually be pushed towards teh left side over and over again. As I previously stated this is not to be confused with the left brain, as that is the realm of analitical and logical thinking. Where as this left side is the more mystical and mysterious side of things. Left handedness usually is considered a mark of magic or such in some cultures. Within this 'side' of teaching one is taught how to enter into the unknown and move the assemblage point without the help of ones mentor or teacher. Thus allowing you to change form both physically, mentally and spiritualy. It also includes some of the rather advanced teachings and philosophies of this esoteric order.
Now - getting to the point. There is usually this period in time in whihc one is between the two stages of training. Or within both at the same time. During this period of time one is often prone to learning how to cultivate ones energy to a higher degree. Thus allowing them to have more energy when they move into the left side. The longer they remain 'in limbo' the more subtle they can learn to manipulate there surroundings. It also gives one a chance to learn how to teach others of the Toltec way. However, if one is ruthlessly pushed into the left side without remaining within this in between phase they will become powerful sorcerers, yet very week seers and scyers who can interpret the way the threads of life and destiny are woven and how to manipulate them. Each person having a slightly different style of training and teaching because of the amount of time that they spend within this state.
Just an interesting tidbit that I thought I should convey.

There is a procedure for producing psychic energy that ties into the process of Getsumei No Michi.
Getsumei No Michi involves the excitation of both sides of the brain, which when it is highly enough developed will create a mental rythm, that rhythm feeds off itself...and like all things when it is overly excited it produces a type of energy much like heat from friction.
This energy is expelled in your actions while on the moonlit path, it is the beginnings of clairvoyance and many of the other psychic abilities that the 'Jedi' have mastered.
The key to opening these abilities is not only staying on the moonlit path, but trying to LEARN while on it, reality on that path and in this mundane realm are far different things.

Wow, I can't believe that I actually typed up all that in just under ten or so minutes.
Upon your clarification on the subject the actual technique really sounds more akin to what I was taught within my own school of magecraft as opposed to anything that I have read elsewhere. In the online world or off. Essentially it works on the five elemental tiers of knowledge. Which outlines the basic format through which the elemental forces in this world are inter-connected and arranged.
The first tier is that of air. In which everything is within. When you think about it in relation to the actual nature of the earth and the layer of air that surrounds the planet it is really rather freaky. Especially since this idea has its roots within Druidic esoterism. The element air is the realm of the mind as it is quick flowing and never ending.
Inside of the tier of air there is that of water. In which the emotions of the universe ebb and flow like the ancient tides of time and space. Never siezing to stop flowing in their timeless cycles.
From the tier of water one moves to that of the earth, which interlaces with the tier of water. Much in the same way that it does on the planet. Whihc is the firm basis of reality.
Inside of the tier of earth there is that of fire. Which is the realm in whihc the tempering of the soul and will takes place.
Finially one comes to a small and minuscule dot in which one focuses upon for a little bit. This is the tier of the aether that which is equivalent to the void within Oriental esotericism. From there one climbs within it, a tiny amount of this elemental force pushing your consciousness back out to the tier of air. Stretching your awarness between here and there as you go through the levels of awareness.
You look without looking, you know without knowing. Without focusing you can focus upon all that was, all that is and all that shall be.
I know this is probably more confusing than it really should be so I'll be going.

After about nine or so cycles from air to the aether and back again you do pretty much just that. Though I am not talking about the previous technique that I outlined, but rather the actual living of the archetypal energy of the tier for a certain period of time.
