It seems to be a wide-spread belief that the Light Jedi are the servants of the world. Somewhere along the line things got twisted and service to others became solve everyone's problems by taking them upon yourself. Which is really just a silly notion.
People will point at us when we do not help them. "Aren't you the Light Jedi? Why didn't you offer your help?" As if we are suppose to kowtow to every single person and offer to shoulder all their problems for them. The Light Jedi are expected to give-up their fish in order to feed another, daily it seems.
However the Light Jedi have been about service to others. Not servicing others. We are not the slaves of the world here to feed others when their own inabilities have made it impossible for them to feed themselves. Light Jedi will teach a man to fish, as the proverb goes. We are not to starve to death so that one may grow fat on our labor.
People, Light Jedi most certainly included, seem to have forgotten that Light Jedi are not the chumps of the world. Yes we offer support, if necessary. Yes we help people; we help others help themselves. We do what we can for the greater good, the assumption people make is they always believe they are a part of the greater good. Which really, they'd not be missed as half as much as they think.
The Light Jedi have a nice little code - aptly named the Jedi Code. It is a guideline to life which Jedi are to adhere to. However I do not remember reading within the Code the part that says, there are no problems; there is only the Light Jedi to do everything for everyone. And why is that not in there? Because it is a ridiculous notion and completely impractical.
The thing about being a Light Jedi is placing your help where it will be of the most use. Meaning it will help others to work out issues for themselves. We are not to solve the issues of those who believe counter to us. Why? Because our methods will not arrive at the same outcome. It would be like teaching your secret fishing technique to a man looking to grow corn. It simply will not arrive at the desired outcome.
Another thing Light Jedi face is being told off for not helping when no one asked for help. You know, I have this problem with my girlfriend. I am just suppose to know what she is feeling and thinking at all times. A Light Jedi will give their support, their help, as best as they can. They will put themselves out in order to do so (at times), but they cannot do this if they are not asked.
Seek to know when your help is needed. And when others are simply using you for their own means. This my fellow Light Jedi is my warning to you. Forewarned is forearmed. When you face this situation and indeed you will, more than once, be prepared for it. And when you are done laughing internally at the stupidity of it, proceed logically, practically, and in accordance with the Jedi Code. And remember the Chinese Proverb: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
